Smart Factories have quickly become the bell of the ball within the manufacturing industry. Manufacturers are beginning to see the value of transitioning towards Industry 4.0 and an increase in adoption rates is looking likely. Recently, a report by Zebra Technologies’ states that close to half of all manufacturing companies within the Asia Pacific region will be fully adopted Smart Factories.

Within the report it stated that close to 46% of all facilities will be fully connected factories. This isn’t just limited to an increase in autonomous vehicles, but workers within these factories will be adopting wearable technology to help improve their performance and the big data revolution will be fully under way.

These numbers released within this report support FlexQube’s view that the impact of Industry 4.0 is here to stay. According to the study we are not alone in making that assumption as 42% of executives stated that investments into improvement and adaption of new technology would lead to an increase in growth.

This is important for FlexQube and our customers because the impact of the smart factory means the importance of having a highly customizable material handling option. The more factories that begin to adapt to industry 4.0 & smart options means it’s only going to become more important for our customers to have increasingly flexible options.  We have noticed this is becoming to have an impact on our customers because some of our most recent orders are being designed with the focus being the ability to change and customise the solutions.
