What is a  Pallet Cart?

A pallet cart or flatbed trolley, as they can be referred to, is a common piece of equipment used for transporting materials in either distribution or manufacturing environments. They have a very simple design as they are usually a flat deck base with wheels (casters) on the bottom. This makes this either a platform for pushing or pulling materials, however pushing is most advised.

Why Buy Pallet Carts from FlexQube?

The FlexQube pallet carts are designed for heavy duty use in a flexible manner. The FlexQube concept allows you to easily design your pallet carts to match your exact needs. This means that you have the freedom to let your materials, operators, internal guidelines dictate the type of pallet carts you use. Pallet carts seem like a simple tool, but having equipment that is durable, made from high quality steel and designed in a way for your requirements can make a big impact. Organisations that need to process, transport, manufacture or distribute high volumes of materials understand that having the right pallet cart or flatbed cart can save an extraordinary amount of money in the long term. Our pallet carts can be custom designed over and over again. For example, if you are looking for a manual push cart, but then need to fit it with a tow bar, this can be easily done by bolting on a FlexQube tow bar to your push cart making it tuggable. This freedom can save time and money in the long term, and creates a scrap-free environment within your organisation.

The FlexQube design of industrial Pallet carts, container trolleys and flatdeck carts are manually pushed carts but can also be tugged in a train. Here at FlexQube we offer solutions for any size of pallet or container but the most common are EUR pallet carts and trolleys for the North American standard dimensions of 48 and 45 inch containers.

These material handling push carts are equipped with ergonomic handle bars and heavy duty casters in different dimensions. The most common caster dimensions are 5 inch or 8 inch (125 mm or 200 mm) casters and they can come in either Polyamide or Polyurethane. The carts can be equipped with casters without brakes or fitted with floor lock brakes. The dollies can be customised for any container size like Gaylord containers, knock down containers or wooden pallets.

Here at FlexQube we know all about flatbed carts and have worked with hundreds of customers to fine-tune their carts and material handling processes. We have delivered thousands of these styles in different dimensions and designs. They all come with the built-in future proof concept we developed that makes sure you can modify the cart design over time.
Our 48 inch flatbed carts are a top seller in this category. They are built to take a beating. With solid steel decks and side plate retainers, they match up perfectly with large bulk box containers.

In Europe our top seller in this segment is our EUR pallet cart with diamond caster setup. Using high quality polyurethane casters, one caster is fixed in the centre of the pallet cart for optimal tracking and manual handling. The part number is Q-007-1220 and this cart has been sold to thousands of different customers in different industries using EUR pallets or Volvo Pallets as one of their main container types for internal material handling and transports.
The cart is equipped with a heavy-duty tow bar that is connected to the handle bar using a wire and, for this reason, the carts can be connected and disconnected from each other without having the operator bend down to unhitch them. This gives this cart a highly ergonomic and efficient design.

Our flatbed carts are often equipped with a floor lock brake and can also come in versions with or without a steel deck. They can easily cope with 2000 lbs. or more.

On the North American market the 48-inch container carts with steel deck and drop pin hitch or foot release tow bar are our top sellers. They come in a six caster setup. By integrating the casters into the platform, the loading deck can be lowered and a so called low rider or lowboy can be achieved. This means better ergonomics for the operators and taller loads can be stored on the carts.

Flat deck tugger carts for containers and pallets are the most common application, when transferring from a forklift driven supply of material to assembly and production lines, to tugger train routes with several carts connected in a train. Every year almost 100 employees are killed in forklift-related accidents, so keep yours safe by switching to the FlexQube fork-lift free initiative.

Our most common and best-selling versions of transportation carts with or without a steel deck for many different sized standard containers; like 48″ containers or Gaylord containers, 48 by 40 inch containers or EUR pallets 1200 x 800 mm in size.

Flat deck industrial tugger cart 50 x 50 inch for 48 by 48 inch or 48 by 40 inch containers or smaller. This cart carries up to 2000 lbs. and is equipped with a foot release tow bar, handle bar with floor lock brake and six heavy duty 200 mm (8 inch) polyurethane casters where the fixed casters are fitted to the centre of the cart to achieve best tracking behind the tugger.
This cart is also available with drop pin hitch. Customer references for this cart are found in many locations in e.g. Canada, USA, Mexico.

EUR pallet cart or trolley for 1200 x 800 mm pallets or Volvo pallets (1225 x 820 mm) with handle bar and wire release tow bar. This cart carries up to 1200 lbs./550 kg and it has four casters in a diamond setup where fixed casters are positioned at the centre of the cart and one swivel caster (crazy wheel as some call them) in each short end of the cart. The EUR pallet trolley has a floor lock brake.

What’s unique about this tugger train cart is the release and coupling function of the hitch where it can be disconnected by pulling a lever on the handle bar (the trigger handle). By doing so the tow bar is disconnected from the cart in front of it without having the operator bend down to release it. This has a positive effect on both the ergonomics for the operator but also the time it takes to connect and disconnect carts.
48 x 40 inch steel deck cart with removable handle bar, tow bar and floor lock brake. This container cart for tugger train applications in a size that is perfect for 48 inch x 40 inch standard containers, has a removable handlebar.

Low rider or lowboy flat deck cart for containers with smaller casters and integrated platform to achieve the lowest possible height of the cart.
This cart is equipped with six 125 mm (5 inches) casters integrated in the steel deck platform to keep the container as close to the floor as possible. The lip on the tow bar is modular which makes it possible to adjust the size of the hole for the type of tugger you are using. The hitch is a drop pin type, spring loaded, for convenient coupling and decoupling of carts. The cart is rated at 1000 lbs./450 kg capacity and Draexlmaier in South Carolina, the USA have almost 200 of these carts in use.

Tugger carts for containers without a steel deck. Frame built by FlexQube standard components and six caster setup for optimal tracking in tugger train. Optimal for container sizes 48 by 45 inches. Possible to add a steel deck to the cart. Autoliv in Mexico has a large number of these carts in use.

Our pallet carts have been proven to improve efficiency & productivity within our customers facilities. We were able to help Borg Warner go forklift-free using our pallet carts. The pallet carts were carrying extremely heavy loads of up to 2000 lbs and had to navigate through quite narrow aisles which had been originally designed for forklifts. We designed and help implement the 50×50 inch flat deck pallet cart which is compatible with the STILL E-Frame. You can see a video of one of the carts carrying a 2052 pound load.  The flexibility of the FlexQube concept has proven itself to be able to deal with all types of environments and the ability to change the carts within your facility is unprecedented.
