Deflection Definition

The Deflection is the degree or amount that a beam or structural element is displaced under a load. In material handling, this is mostly relevant to when material handling carts or trucks are placed under load and how much their elements are put under stress.

The deformation of a beam is usually expressed in terms of the deflection from the original unloaded position.
